Quick Status Check

2012 is half way over.   How’s your year going?   Are you where you need to be at this mid-year point?   Are you on track with your goals for 2012?

What?!  You don’t have any goals?!

No sweat.  Most people don’t.  The closest they come is dabbling with that goofy New Year’s resolution thing, and then fizzle out  after a few days (at best) of  trying to improve themselves.

Hey!  There’s still another half left to this year!  What will you do with that time?

A lot can happen in 6 months, don’t kid yourself.

Here’s a quick way to check where you’re at.  I’ve listed a number of categories.  It’s not a complete list—you may have some others to add—but it'll get the ball rolling.

After each category, give a number value from 1-10, 1 being “not at all satisfied”, and 10 being “very satisfied”.   The list is in no particular order of importance.

  • Physical Health
  • Finances
  • Professional
  • Spiritual Health
  • Personal Growth/Development/Learning
  • Family Relationships
  • Friendships
  • Marital/Significant Other Relationship
  • Fun/Rest/Leisure
  • Physical Environment (your home, where you live)
Go ahead and score yourself in these areas now . . .

Don’t be afraid to give yourself a low score.  How else will you know if you need to improve?  If you have all 8’s and above, call me.  I’d like to meet you!

Assessment time:

1)  Are you motivated to improve any of these lower scores?

2) If you do improve them, how could your life be better?

3) Regardless of the score, what area are you most motivated to work on?

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to pick only one area, and really work on it for the next 6 weeks.

BUT, pick something you’ll actually work on!  Again, what are you most motivated to work on?

Then answer these 3 questions:

“The biggest benefit to working on this chosen area will be________________________.”

“My 6-week goal for this area is_______________________________________________________.”

“The first 3 actions steps for me to improve this area are_____________________________.”

And there you have it.  Assess, envision, plan.

And then MOVE!
